Nestlé Alfamino & NAN Formula Recall in Spain: How to Get a Refund (2026)

Nestlé preventively recalled Alfamino and several NAN, Nidina and Nativa infant formulas in Spain in early 2026 (cereulide from a shared ARA oil, AESAN alert ES2025/723). If you bought an affected tin, Nestlé refunds the price on its recall line — and by law you can also claim through the shop. Here are the exact products, the Nestlé refund route, and a free tool that drafts the demand for you.

  • Alfamino and Alfamino Junior (special amino-acid formulas).
  • NAN: NAN AR, NAN Total Confort 1 and 2, NAN Optipro 1, NAN SupremePro 1 and 2.
  • Nativa 1, Nidina 1 and Nidina Confort Digest.
  • Check your tin’s lot and expiry on Nestlé’s finder (nestlebebe.es/retirada-preventiva) — but a refund is normally paid with or without it.

How to get your money back from Nestlé

  1. Call Nestlé’s free line 900 50 19 27 or email consumidor@es.nestle.com to open the refund.
  2. Or claim from the shop that sold it — the seller is also legally responsible and must refund.
  3. Put the claim in writing with the product, the amount and your bank details, so the date and amount are fixed if they stall.
  4. If ignored, escalate with the hoja de reclamaciones and then OMIC / your regional consumer authority.

Your rights (and the Brazil iodine recall)

  • A recalled, unsafe formula is non-conforming — arts. 114–127 TRLGDCU give you replacement or a full refund, and art. 125 lets you claim directly against Nestlé.
  • If your baby was harmed, that is a separate product-liability claim (arts. 128–149); keep medical records.
  • Note: a separate February 2026 Alfamino recall in Brazil was about excess iodine/selenium, a different issue from the European cereulide event — do not confuse the two when describing your case.
  • Refunds in a recall are usually paid with or without the receipt.

Frequently asked questions

What is Nestlé’s refund number?

Nestlé España’s free consumer line is 900 50 19 27, or email consumidor@es.nestle.com. You can also claim through the shop that sold the formula.

Do I need the tin or the receipt?

Usually not both. A photo of the lot and expiry, or a bank/card statement, is normally enough for a recall refund.

Was Alfamino recalled for iodine?

That was a separate Brazil recall in February 2026. The Spanish/European recall of Alfamino and NAN was about possible cereulide from ARA oil.

How much can I claim?

The full price you paid. If your baby was harmed, a separate product-liability claim can cover the damages.
