How much IMV pays in Spain
The IMV amount depends on your household unit, existing income and the number of dependents. INSS subtracts your household income from the guaranteed income level and pays the difference.

- Household composition: number of adults and children registered at your address.
- Guaranteed income level: set annually for each household size.
- Existing household income: all sources including salaries, pensions, benefits, rental income.
- Child supplement: each child under 18 adds a fixed amount to the IMV.
- Special supplements: disability, single parent. These add to the base amount.
What to do first

- Calculate total household income from all sources for the past year.
- Subtract household income from guaranteed income. The remainder is the indicative IMV amount.
- If the result is zero or negative, you do not qualify unless you have special supplements.

- DNI/NIE/TIE or passport.
- SEPE/INSS decision, application receipt or expediente number.
- Work history report (vida laboral), contribution days, income documents and bank details.
Deadlines and risk
- INSS calculates using tax authority data. Undeclared income will still be counted.
- A change in household composition or income can increase or decrease the amount mid-year.
- Failing to report a change leads to overpayment and a repayment demand.
- The guaranteed income table is updated annually. Your amount may change without action on your part.
